MTB Info

We drive past the Zavod za šport Ajdovščina and along Lokavšček along the macadam path towards Lokavec. Following simple trails and partly macadam, we drive past the church of Sv. Tomaž in Stomaže. Through the forest and meadows we continue to Vrtovin and further to Črniče. The route up to here is not technically demanding, with the exception of a short descent, which an unscrupulous cyclist can walk on foot. Between Črniče and Batuje, a very opaque place when crossing the road! – pay attention!

Before Batuje, cross the overpass over the motorway and drive on macadam along the river Vipava. We will soon leave the field trails (55 km distance), followed by a technical ascent along the Pahor trail to Brje. A shorter distance (35km) here continues with the ride along the river Vipava to Dolenje, where the lines reunite for a short time.

Long distance (55km) at Brje peak continues towards Vrtovče. And further over the ridge of Ostri vrh, Vrtovčeva pot, just before the descent to Gabrje the path climbs to the pass below Ostri vrh, where we continue along the Slovenian cycling tour route to Planina. From Planina we descend along a difficult macadam path (Vrtovčeva pot) to Dolenje – all STKP and reunite at the Napoleon Bridge with a distance of 35 km.

At Napoleon’s Bridge, we then immediately separate. The shorter, 35km distance, continues along the macadam path to Ajdovščina and back to the starting point in Pale.

The longer, 55km distance, continues along a beautiful macadam path along the river Vipava to below the village of Zemono, where we cross the highway and a clear place on the regional road. We continue along the field path to Vrhpolje and cross higher to the left towards Budanje. Here we are once again waiting for beautiful views of the Vipava Valley and exceptional trails, from difficult macadam, single-track and rides through the woods.
In this part, we will have to drive up the hill a bit more technical terrain a few times. The ascents will be shorter and we will soon find ourselves on the macadam road that leads to the source of the Hubelj, from where we are only separated by a descent along an excellent single-track to Pale.
